Our own little Fern Gully...

We have found a gem!  Matt and the girls went on a walk behind the fence about a month ago and found a wonderful little walking area behind our house in the greenbelt area.  Taylor spotted a tree with an orange 'X' on it and promptly stated that they were in Fern Gully.  If you haven't seen the movie, you should...good one!  Anyway, we have frequented Fern Gully since then...even walked all the way to two different parks along the way!  The girls love it and they (and Winnie) can run wild!  We've even found a rope swing they like to swing on and built dams and bridges to divert the water in the stream.  This walking area has become one of our favorites!

Seven Acre Farm Fun

We went with friends to Seven Acre Farm...and just about had the place to ourselves!  My good friend got a groupon deal so we took the kids on a Friday!  We fed the animals, pet the animals, chased the animals, held the animals, slid down the slides, played in the sandbox, raced cars around the track, ran free, played in the boat, and our favorite...did the zip line over and over and over!  They all loved the baby goats.  There were three tiny baby goats that loved the kids...or at least couldn't find a place to hide from them.  I enjoyed watching the Llama, sheep, goats, and even a huge turtle.  We got some drinks and rested then went to lunch!  Fun day with fun friends!  Girls can't wait to go back...:)

Taylor goes to the Dentist...

I know, of all people, my kids should have the cleanest, healthiest, and decay free teeth...but they don't!  I took the girls to the dentist in January and Taylor had some 'areas of concern'.  Ok...it was decay...I saw it glaring at me on the xrays...my heart sank.  How could this happen...teeth brushing every night is a challenge, but not an option, and we did it every.single.night!  That was the problem...we only brushed once a day (it was like pulling teeth to get that done...pun intended), and never flossed (ouch, that hurts to even say)!!!  I know better, but I didn't do it!  So she had some decay that needed to get filled.  Due to her age and the areas needing filled we decided to do IV sedation.  Our pediatric dentist is awesome with the kids and luckily has an anesthesiologist come in often to sedate...so we felt this was the appropriate choice!  And, Taylor did great!!!  She was a little loopy coming out of sedation and doesn't remember ANYTHING!  Which is even better!  Highly recommended!  Here is her selfie on the way  home!  Brushing twice a day and flossing once a day is now a routine for our kids!

Furniture Auction Fun!

Matt and I took a Sunday afternoon and attended a furniture auction in Tomball.  Amazing deals were made and furniture was almost given away!  It was neat to see how they did it and how fast the auctioneer talked...just like the cow auction my grandpa took me to once.  We had heard good things about the quality of furniture and we had been looking for a new bedroom set and other items for the house for a year now.  The auction was fun!  We found some furniture we liked and bid on...and we got it!  So excited...time to paint and get new bedding!!!

Birthday Parties!

So, we combined the girls birthday party into one party again this year!  One in January and one in March...so we split the difference!  I just love doing that, but I think it might be coming to an end.  It used to be just cousins coming to birthday parties, but now, the girls have wonderful classmates at school and great friends that come as well!  That adds up quick!  They also said they want separate parties next year!  This year we did Pump It Up again...always a good party!  Hope everyone had a good time.  We didn't have time to open presents, which we hate, but the girls opened them at home and was so suprised by each of them!  Thanks friends and family for coming and celebrating Taylor's 5th birthday and Jordan's 3rd birthday!

Puppies at the Mall

Gramma took the girls shopping at the mall for their birthday!  They had so much fun picking toys from the Build a Bear store for Stuffy and Peaches, their build a bears, looking through the pretty Easter dresses, and most of all....playing with the puppies at the Pet Store!  I had totally forgot they had a pet store at the mall until I saw it.  There is a small area in the back they let the puppies play and you can sit and pet them!  Taylor and Jordan loved the puppies...but Gramma isn't allowed to buy living things for birthday presents!  We also ate lunch at the mall, shopped at the jewelry store, and rode the carousel!!

Bedtime...

Bedtime is not the most pleasant time of day at our house.  Cleaning up, brushing and flossing teeth, going potty, getting a drink, putting on pull ups, picking books to read, patting backs and rubbing bellies, kisses, monsters, finding stuffed animals, etc....it can be exhausting some nights.  However, the girls (and Winnie) really enjoy reading books with Daddy!  Right now, they love Peter Pan, Bible stories, and Pinkalicious!  I read a blog recently that questioned why bedtime was at the end of the day...it should be at the beginning of the day when I'm fresh and feel like I could be Mary Poppins.  Not at the end when I'm tired, tired of it all, and just ready for my 'victory lap' for getting everyone through the day alive!

Frozen!!!!

I took the girls to see Frozen!  They loved it!  It was a first for me, but they were great and we will definitely do it again!  We almost had the place to ourselves!  It was awesome!  Popcorn, soda, and a semi-private movie with big comfy chairs!  What could be better!  We now sing all the songs from Frozen all day long....
"Do you want to build a snowman........"

Fort Building

What is more fun on a rainy Monday than a cool fort? We built forts all over the playroom, but this was the best!  They could even watch a movie in the fort!  Even Winnie approved!

Singing in the Rain

We got rain gear for Christmas!  So the first time it rained...we played in it!  The rain jackets and boots are a little big...it was planned that way...it will last longer!  They grow too fast!  They jumped in puddles (just like Peppa Pig, except they were not muddy puddles!), played on the swingset, sang, danced, and had a great time!...  Until they got water on their pants!  It was fun!  They love their new rain gear, but said they prefer an umbrella!  HA!
